Have you ever forgotten to shut the garage door, lock the doors, or turn the coffee maker off?  So have I!  Thankfully, there are so many benefits of the new Smart Home Technology Trends… like helping us out when we forget a thing or two!

I love how these new home features can keep things simple… and so much can now be controlled right from phones.  How cool is that?  Not only can Smart Homes save us time with our busy schedules, but they can also save a bundle on lighting costs, too.  In many areas, you may even be eligible for rebates or insurance reductions just for having certain Smart Home features, so be sure to check on that, too!

So… are you ready to make your home a little smarter?  Let’s get started!  Following are my favorite Smart Home Technology Trends…

1: Smart Home Wi-Fi Light Switches: With these Smart Wi-Fi Light Switches, you can now turn lights in your house on/off from your phone anywhere in the country, or even world!  Compatible with Alexa, all you have to do is speak out and lights will turn on and off at your command!  Adding a few of these Smart Wi-Fi light switches will put your house on the fast path to becoming a smart home.

2: Smart Home Toilet Night Lights:  This Toilet Night Light hooks on to the side of your toilet and changes colors throughout the time it is on.  It will turn on when you open the door and will turn off if there is not motion in the room for a certain period of time.  This allows you to be able to use the toilet without having to turn on the lights at night, saving you electricity and money.  Who doesn’t want to save money??

3: Smart Home Security Cameras:  A WiFi Security Camera is the perfect option to give you peace of mind whenever you’re away from home.  You can even stream HD 1080p Video and two way Audio with your Smartphone, Tablet, or Desktop with this Wyze Cam HD Security Camera.  I especially love this Security Camera as it has the two way audio feature, so you can talk back and forth with your family {or pets} from wherever you are. 😉

7:  Smart Home Assistant:  If you haven’t heard, Amazon’s “Echo” is the next big thing for the technology world.  Kind of like a helpful assistant, Alexa hears you from across the room with far-field voice recognition even while it is playing your favorite music.  It’s the perfect little tool for all of us with busy lifestyles.  It can even read you the latest news headlines, traffic reports, weather updates, etc. when you’re scrambling to get out the door in the mornings.  Compatible with the Nest App, you can even adjust the temperature, dim the lights, and lock the doors with a simple command.  It adds so many fun little perks… from ordering a pizza on command to even summoning an Uber to your front door!  How cool is that?

8: Smart Home House Cleaner: Have you ever wished you could sit back, relax and have the floors clean themselves?  You can!  Use the iRobot Roomba for a dust, dirt, and debris-free home!  Using the iRobot Home App, you can even connect to your Roomba from your smartphone and start cleaning from anywhere with a single tap on the app. Roomba can vacuum all floor surfaces from carpet to hard floors and even recharges itself when it’s done so you can send it out on it’s next mission whenever you want!
