Are you wondering how to make snow covered mason jars? These winter mason jars appear to be covered with freshly fallen snow using Epsom salt! They’re so easy to make and are one of my favorite holiday decorating ideas! These snowy mason jar luminaries can also be used as a vase for holiday garland or flowers.

Are you ready to make these Snowy Mason Jar Candles? Here’s what you’ll do…

Snowy Mason Jar Candles

What You’ll Need:

Mason Jars
Foam Craft Brush
Epsom Salt
Mod Podge
Acrylic Sealer {Matte Finish}
Tea Lights
Twine

What You’ll Do:

Pour Epsom Salt onto a paper plate.
Pour Mod Podge into a disposable plastic container.
Using a foam brush, apply a thick layer of Mod Podge over the outside of the Mason Jar.
Next, roll the Mason Jar in the Epsom salts
Once the mason jar has been coated well, place it onto some parchment paper to dry overnight.
When the snowy mason jars have dried, spray them with an Acrylic Sealer. (this helps to keep the Epsom salts from falling off the jars)
Set the jars back on the parchment paper until they are fully dry.
Wrap a length of twine around the rim of the mason jar and decorate with mini ornaments and artificial greens.
Light the tea lights and enjoy your snowy mason jar luminaries!
